Regenerative Fashion

We all know that the pandemic hit us hard but on the brighter side it also made every one sit up and notice their lifestyles. There's a clear upward curve in global environmental awareness. We believe, 2021 is an year of opportunity to change the way we think and approach our daily lives. Let's see how fashion can, should and will change us and our planet.

Fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world. As the loss of biodiversity, soil degradation and global warming escalate - it's time that we take a step further that goes beyond Sustainable Think and look at Regenerative Fashion.

It's important to understand Regenerative Agriculture that forms the base of Regenerative Fashion. Farming practices that reverses climate change by healing the soil, reviving natural ecosystems, and restoring soil biodiversity resulting in increased farmer well being, carbon drawdown and improvements in water cycles. To put simply, the essence of Regeneration means creating a positive impact rather than aiming for low impact.

We stand with pride to say that our Eri Silk pieces are part of Regenerative Agriculture. The textiles have been handcrafted by the skilled tribal artisans in quaint villages who weave magic with their nimble fingers, amidst the beautiful, lush green forests of Assam - home to some of the world's most beautiful wild silks and plethora of plants that can are grown, nurtured and collected to make loveliest of natural dyes.

The heritage Eri Silk textiles are woven in old-world hutments in non-industrial process. These hutments are strategically located in the forest villages so that the indigenous communities don't have to travel out in search of work, find more economic opportunities close by, and are able to send their children to schools.

In this verdant forest paradise, when a resource that has been gifted by the Earth is taken, something more is given back keeping in mind factors such as soil health, ecology and wildlife protection. In fact, plants are grown and nurtured first and then made available for dyeing purposes. That way a positive balance is created.

The future of fashion is Regenerative.  Creating clothing that can eventually create a healthy global ecosystem that cools the world and can return home to the Earth to feed the soil should be on top of our minds. Let's together wade the way towards the greater good of our Planet and its people.
